Music Venues in Norwich

Music Venues in Norwich

At Piano Lessons Norwich we believe that experiencing live music not only introduces you to your local music scene but is also massively beneficial to your development as a musician. Watching professionals play the piano is always breathtaking and has many people leaving a show with a mixed sense of awe and jealousy. Anyone who sees a professional pianist wishes they had learned the instrument themselves, and will always remember the show they've been to. This is something we truly reccomend to you, and below are Norwich's prime locations to see live music that you'll love.

Norwich Playhouse

Norwich Playhouse is a venue situated slap-bang in the middle of the city and brings a fresh modern feel to the local music scene. The venue has a capacity of 300 and opened in 1995 and has some of the best acoustics the city has to offer, making it a prime location for many music acts as well as theatrical performances and stand-up comedians. They regularly host jazz and orchestral groups and are a very busy venue with multiple quality acts on every week. Check out their website to see what's on in the near future and go and book yourself in for something!

The Waterfront

The Waterfront is a combined music venue and nightclub near Norwich City Centre. There are no seating allocations here which means accesibility suffers but atmosphere rocks. It is a regular stopoff for students at University of East Anglia (UEA) and regularly attracts big names as a result, hosting the likes of Young Guns and Danny & Ther Champions of the World in summer 2015. It has two rooms, one a little smaller and intimate than the main 500-capacity hall and has hosted some of the biggest names in the past as well including the likes of Nirvana and Radiohead! This venue makes for a cracking night out with mates which you'll all remember fondly.

The Waterfront, 139-141 King Street, Norwich, NR1 1QH.

The Nick Rayns LCR @ UEA

The Nick Rayns LCR is essentially UEA's student union. Being the most publicised venue for students at the university, LCR is more often than not packed out  at its 1500 capacity and attracts huge names such as Kasabian, You Me At Six and The Wombats due to it's guaranteed large crowds. Check out the UEA box office website to keep up to date with what's on and get yourself down there for a night of live music to remember!
